På 1920-talet lät brunnen modernisera och utvidga konditoriet, som bl a tillbyggdes med en av brunnsgästerna uppskattad veranda. 1932 behövde brunnen lokalerna till dietmatsal, varför den gamle konditorns, efter en 55-årig verksamhet på brunnen, upphörde.
